Palmer was a lifelong Mormon and had served as LDS Institute of Religion director, LDS college instructor, LDS seminary teacher, and High Priest group instructor. In this book, written while he was still a member of the LDS Church, he shares his research on Joseph Smith’s early life, the Book of Mormon, the prophet’s visions, the restoration of priesthood authority, and more. He finds that much of what Mormons take for granted as literal history in fact did not happen. Palmer was excommunicated from the LDS Church in 2004 as a result of publishing this book. 296 pages.
